Well I guess this is why we practice...to learn what doesn't work. First I set up the pears, did the quick sketch. Then changed my mind and built a shadow box to place them in. Should have gone with the original idea. I used gold ochre, alisarin crimson, chromium oxide green, black and white. I didn't like the chromium oxide so I shall strike it from my palette. The two pears look too much like a reflection!

Wine bottle & green apples
Starting to paint a little larger and spend more time, hopefully I will see improvement. Trying "Copal" oil painting medium...I like the feel, keeps the paint fluid, dries faster, and gives the painting more gloss...we'll see. 1.5 hrs.

Forsyth Park Savannah
Coming home from our Myrtle beach vacation we stopped in Savannah Ga. Walked around for about three hours. I hadn't spent time here since 1984. Couldn't resist this. Oil on canvas 8x10.
